Participants at the just concluded 11th edition of Nigeria Health Excellence Awards (NHEA) 2025, have called for stronger collaboration across sectors and renewed commitments from sponsors and policymakers to sustain excellence in Nigerian healthcare.

The award which held in Lagos under the theme ‘Collaborating for impact: Strengthening health systems through the SWAP approach’, spotlighted outstanding individuals and institutions advancing excellence across the healthcare ecosystem in Nigeria.

A statement signed and made available to the media by the Director, Marketing, Communication & Strategy NHEA, Moses Braimah, explained that this year’s award categories covered a diverse range of healthcare delivery and innovation sectors.

According to the statement, winners at the event include; Sterling Bank Plc, Outstanding Healthcare Financial Institution of the Year; Katsina State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KTSCHMA), and Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA).

Other winners are, State Government Health Insurance of the Year; University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), Public Tertiary Healthcare Facility of the Year; Duchess International Hospital, Private Tertiary Healthcare Facility of the Year; Ikorodu General Hospital, Public Secondary Healthcare Facility of the Year; R-Jolad Hospital, Private Secondary Healthcare Facility of the Year; Leadway Health Limited, Health Maintenance Organisation of the Year; EHA Clinics, Innovative Healthcare Service Provider of the Year and The Bridge Clinic, IVF Service Provider of the Year.

Some others are, Zenith Medical & Kidney Centre, Abuja, Dialysis Service Provider of the Year; Eye Foundation Hospital, Eye Care Service Provider of the Year; Smile360 Dental Specialists, Dental Service Provider of the Year; Medserve-LUTH Cancer Centre, Oncology Centre of the Year; Codix Pharma Limited, Technology-Driven Pharmaceutical Distributor of the Year, among others.

Minister of State for Health, Iziaq Salako in his opening remarks said, “Tonight, we witnessed proof that our health sector is rich with talent, innovation, and resilience. These winners are the foundation of a stronger health system.

Chairman of the NHEA advisory board, Anthony Omolola, added: “We are not just handing out awards—we are reinforcing a culture of quality, competitiveness, and commitment to saving lives.”
