…Over 21% score 300 and above
JEXTOBAN Secondary School has noted the exceptional performance of its students in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), saying it is a testament to “our steadfast dedication to academic excellence and high moral values”.
Speaking to BusinessDay in Lagos, the management noted, for instance, that JEXTOBAN students have maintained impressive scores, despite that the national statistics suggest a general decline in UTME performance.
“In contrast to the national average of less than 1 percent scoring 300 and above in the 2025 UTME, over 21 percent of JEXTOBAN students had a score of 300 and above.
“JEXTOBAN students recorded a 100 percent success rate, with all candidates scoring above 200, while about 49 percent of our students scored between 250 and 299. This is in contrast to national figures, which indicate that over 75 percent of candidates scored below that mark”, BusinessDay learnt.

In addition, all JEXTOBAN students surpassed the national benchmark of 200, with a substantial number achieving scores typically reserved for the top 1 percent of candidates nationwide.
JEXTOBAN recently celebrated 12 university graduates who graduated with first-class honours from different universities across the world; all 12 attended JEXTOBAN secondary school. This further shows that we values we instil in students can stand the test of time anywhere in the world.
Adedayo Ojo, Director of Planning and Strategy at JEXTOBAN, said that “the performance of our students can also be traced to their subject performance”.
Ojo, who is also an academic Doctor, further said, “Our students Temowo Pamilerin, Jaleyemi Moyosore, and Alabi Joshua, all scored 98 in Mathematics, while Layade Nehemiah (96), Alalo Testimoy (94) Abraham Righteousness scored 96, respectively, in Physics. Additionally, Abraham Righteousness again scored (90), and Agbegunde Momoreoluwa (90) scored in Chemistry.”
“The high academic standards we maintain and the tireless efforts of our instructors in JEXTOBAN are reflected in these scores,” he noted further.

Ojo further said that, “As educators, our goal is to refine lapses in the educational space, and help in the capacity building process of mentoring students regardless of whether they are termed weak or super smart”.
The recently celebrated 12 university graduates who graduated with first-class honours from different universities across the world serve as an additional source of Joy to JEXTOBAN’s vision of qualitative education and good character, Ojo noted.
With two campuses in Lagos and Ogun States, JEXTOBAN’s objective is to awaken the hidden potential in its students and help them to nurture and give expression to their dreams through Christian values and virtues.
