NASCON Allied Industries Plc, a member of the Dangote Group of companies, has appointed Tonya Lawani, M.CIoD, as an Independent Non-Executive Director on its Board.

Tonya Lawani is a seasoned corporate strategist and governance expert with a track record of excellence across diverse industries. With over a decade of experience in leadership, board service, and business development, she brings a depth of insight and a fresh perspective to NASCON’s strategic objectives.

Her appointment, according to a statement aligns with NASCON’s commitment to strong corporate governance, innovation, and sustainable growth as it continues to play a vital role in Nigeria’s manufacturing and food processing sectors.

The statement said that Tonya Lawani currently serves on several corporate boards and she is known for her advocacy for ethical leadership, inclusive growth, and capacity building across the African business landscape. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Directors (M.CIoD) and holds a strong commitment to advancing good governance practices in both the private and public sectors.

Lawani is the Managing Director and CEO, of Seal Group, with offices in Lagos and Benin, graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with a BSc in Economics in 2004 and an MBA at the Metropolitan School of Business & Management, United Kingdom. A product of the Lagos Business School – Owner Manager Programme’s leadership and business management. And with several Executive Leadership courses at the prestigious Harvard University. Her first paper on leadership to youth entrepreneurs was delivered at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.

Her appointment took effect from Monday 30th June 2025. NASCON is a foremost player in Nigeria’s food industry with core operations in salt refining and seasoning production.
