Nigeria’s leading producer of natural and organic food for children and toddlers, Moppet Foods, makes history as it becomes the first Nigerian children’s food brand to sell its products on Walmart USA.

Roberta Oyedotun, founder and CEO of Moppet Foods, made this announcement via a statement on Thursday.

“We are thrilled to partner with Walmart, a retail giant committed to offering quality products to millions of families,” she said.

According to her, “This marks a significant milestone for Moppet Foods as it expands its reach to a broader consumer base seeking wholesome and convenient meal options.”

She maintained the company’s commitment in ensuring that natural and nutritious food solutions are easily accessible, and readily available, globally and internationally. “We’ve gone from feeding one child in Lagos State, Nigeria, to nourishing thousands of children across continents. And we’re just getting started.

Under the guidance of Oyedotun, a technologist-turned-food innovator, “Moppet’s entry into Walmart is a testament to what is possible when innovation, resilience, and purpose collides.”

She pointed out how Moppet has grown from easing a Lagos mother’s concern about chemical-laden baby foods to the shelves of America’s largest retailer, as a reflection of a new era where African excellence and global impact connect.

“This strategic expansion into Walmart represents a significant step in our market penetration efforts, bringing our nutritious offerings directly to where a vast number of consumers shop daily.”

Despite this historic and significant achievement, Oyedotun and Moppet remain motivated.

She believes it’s not just a win for Moppet’s but for Nigeria and Africa. “We are proving to the world that Africa can nourish its own and the world—ethically, sustainably, and proudly.”
