Arsenal are reportedly ready to offer up to €80 million to sign Sporting Lisbon’s prolific striker Viktor Gyökeres this summer.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta recognises the urgent need for a top-class forward to bolster the Gunners’ Premier League title ambitions against rivals like Liverpool and Manchester City next season.

The Sweden international Gyokeres has so far recorded 52 goals and 12 assists in 48 matches for Sporting this season, making him one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.

According to Fichajes, optimism is growing within the Emirates Stadium regarding the potential capture of Gyokeres to strengthen Arteta’s attacking options. While Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus have played vital roles, neither has consistently produced the 20+ goal seasons Arsenal requires.

Arsenal are emerging as strong favourites for his signature, despite reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

With Arsenal offering a more attractive project for a player chasing major honours, the North London side are reportedly in advanced talks. Sporting Director Andrea Berta is said to be a huge admirer of the 26-year-old, fuelling the club’s determination to strike a deal.
