Forvis Mazars in Nigeria has marked its 50th anniversary, reflecting on five decades of service delivery, transformation, and growth since its founding in 1975 as Ojike, Okechukwu & Co. The milestone was celebrated with staff, clients, and partners, highlighting a journey rooted in resilience and professional excellence.
Country Leader, Uhabia Ojike said the anniversary was “a testament to our unwavering commitment to delivering world-class expertise, bold foresight, and sustainable growth.” The firm, which joined the Mazars global network in 2019 and became part of the Forvis Mazars network in 2024, continues to strengthen its global presence while remaining committed to local impact.
Peter Nwofia, Tax Partner, Forvis Mazars in Nigeria, described the 50-year milestone as “a celebration of our resilience, because we are in a market that is very tough and very competitive.” He emphasised that surviving and thriving in an environment where many companies do not exceed a decade is a significant achievement.
The firm’s evolution from a local indigenous outfit to an international brand reflects deliberate strategic shifts. In 2016, it rebranded as Ojike & Partners, later joining Mazars in 2019. The 2024 partnership with Forvis, a US-based firm, created a unique two-member global network that strengthened its position in key markets.

“Forvis Mazars today is proud of its strong presence in the United States, and we are looking to build on that foundation,” said Nwofia. “Our future is bright, and we are here to stay.”
The firm’s core values of excellence, quality, integrity, and entrepreneurship remain central to its operations. “Excellence is non-negotiable,” Nwofia noted. “Quality is something we do not compromise. We monitor it. Integrity is essential because stakeholders must trust the financial statements we produce. And we are entrepreneurial — we go to the market; we do not wait.”
The culture within Forvis Mazars is designed to support diversity, inclusion, and professional growth. “We have a flat hierarchy,” said Nwofia. “There is mutual respect, and we make two promises to our people: employability for life and friendship for life. These shape how we invest in training, international exposure, and a people-first culture.”
Osamudiame Adams, Partner, Audit & Assurance, Forvis Mazars in Nigeria, said the anniversary affirms the belief that clients and staff have in the firm. “We are true to our DNA. We support profitability but also prioritise our people and the community,” he said.
Forvis Mazars in Nigeria has also supported local businesses by providing access to leadership resources, tailored SME programmes, and advisory services, including pro bono offerings.
Looking ahead, the firm’s strategic priorities include expanding its client base, developing its workforce, and deepening community impact. Nwofia said the goal is to be the “undisputed number five” accounting firm in Nigeria by 2028, just behind the established Big Four. “We are closing the gap,” he said.
Edward During, CFO of Lekoil Nigeria Ltd, who attended the celebration, said Forvis Mazars in Nigeria stands for “excellence and perseverance.” He added that the firm has the potential to become one of the top five audit firms in Nigeria and globally.
As it looks to the future, Forvis Mazars in Nigeria remains focused on building on its legacy while positioning itself for sustained impact.
