RACE Africa has launched PIXLCO., a new platform aimed at preparing early-stage Nigerian startups for global investment. The initiative is backed by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) and focuses on helping local ventures become investment-ready.
PIXLCO. will offer startups direct access to funding, strategic mentorship, and support from a wide network of global investors, particularly within the Nigerian diaspora. The platform is designed to address common challenges that prevent startups from attracting capital, including poor business documentation, limited investor connections, and weak fundraising strategies.
“We’re not just building a training program. We’re building an ecosystem that transforms ideas into fundable, scalable ventures,” said Paul Akume, Founder of RACE Africa. “Too many startups fail at the point of fundraising because they lack the strategy, documentation, and investor perspective. PIXLCO. is built to change that.”
With NIDCOM’s support, the platform aims to tap into the global influence of the Nigerian diaspora to drive national development through investment in innovation.
In its first year, PIXLCO. will support 100 startups across five key sectors. At least 20 of these ventures are expected to secure funding through the PIXL Pitch4Fund Challenge. Startups will go through pitch readiness training, business mentorship, and be connected with curated investor groups.
Over the next five years, the initiative aims to support more than 1,000 African founders and unlock over $200 million in startup funding. PIXLCO. also seeks to create a scalable model that can be replicated in other African countries.
