…Holds Advertising Industry Colloquium
Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON will today bring marketing industry experts and academia together to explore latest trends shaping the advertising industry and how to key into the trends.
The event organised under the ARCON’s instituted Advertising Industry Colloquium, AIC has the theme: “From dialogue to Data: Merging storytelling, Human engagement and tech in marketing communication”.
It is expected that the experts and the academia will share insights on the theme and provide attendees with valuable takeaways to enhance their skills and stay ahead of the curve.
Some of the speakers include: Olufemi Odugbemi, founder and CEO of Zuri24 Media; Idy Enang, immediate past president of NIMN; Nana Milagrosa Utomi Biyang, founder and chief Experience Curator, MPXM; Steve Babaeko, Group CEO, X3M Ideas.
Other speakers are Steven Onaivi, MD, MediaReach Omd; and Kolade Ajilore, Department of Mass Communication, Babcock University, Ilesan. The speakers are expected to share their experiences and perspectives on the industry’s pressing issues.
A statement from ARCON said the colloquium will feature a creative advertising pitch competition involving seven tertiary institutions that emerged from the pre-event pitch competition carried out across institutions on Nigeria. These institutions are University of Ilorin, Covenant University, Rivers State University, Kaduna Polytechnic, Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State, Ebonyi State University and Pan Atlantic University.
Rotimi Olatunji, chairman of AIC said “the advertising pitch during the 2025 AIC promises to be the most exciting as it brings students of mass communication from the six geo-political zones of Nigeria to showcase their knowledge and skills in the creative component of advertising practice”. Successful academic institutions will be rewarded, he said.
The Advertising Industry Colloquium and Academic Journal Committee was instituted by ARCON Director General, Lekan Fadolapo to create an atmosphere for scholars and practitioners in advertising and marketing communication to brainstorm on strategies for continuous process improvement in advertising education and profession.
