Rotary International District 9112 has marked a significant leadership transition as Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin was recently installed as District Governor at a landmark event in Lagos.

The event, rich in colour and spirit, according to a statement, was attended by dignitaries, Rotarians, family, and friends from across Nigeria and beyond. It was anchored by veteran cultural icon Yemi Sodimu, who brought elegance and charisma to the occasion.

Lanre Adedoyin, principal of T.L. Adedoyin & Co., is the second District Governor since the creation of District 9112 following the split of District 9110. A respected legal practitioner and community leader, Adedoyin’s career spans law, education, and humanitarian service. His law firm is accredited to train Nigerian Law School students, a testament to his professional excellence.

Beyond his legal work, Adedoyin’s community service journey is distinguished. From his early days as Governor of the Elegant Club of Ijomu-Oro in his hometown of Oro Kingdom, Kwara State, to joining the Rotary Club of Surulere South in 2003, his record of leadership is deep and consistent. Notably, he personally funded the legal incorporation of District 9110—an uncommon act of generosity.

In his address, Adedoyin set a clear tone for his tenure, anchored on sustainability, healthcare and collective impact.

“We cannot underestimate the importance of supporting mothers and children with quality healthcare facilities and essential amenities,” he said. “These efforts reduce pressure on families and strengthen community well-being. Our projects are tailored to bring lasting, sustainable impact.”

He added that the day’s programme was a major fundraising effort, calling on stakeholders to continue pooling resources to drive meaningful change:

“Let’s take our challenges in stride. With unity, innovative thinking, and strategic planning, we can rise above our current difficulties and build a better future for all,” he said in the statement.

Immediate Past District Governor Femi Adenekan, in his valedictory remarks, highlighted some of the district’s milestone achievements under his watch.

These include the planting of 5,000 coconut trees across coastal communities, with 3,000 seedlings donated by the Lagos State Government, and the swift construction of a ₦325 million vocational training centre in Epe within just three months and two weeks.

“The facility was built to address youth unemployment and boost economic empowerment in under-served communities,” he noted.
