Nigeria’s population of about 227 has become attractive to Glen Talloch, a top Scotch whisky as the brand makes its entry into the country’s market garnering impressive attention and buzz through its partnership with the Lagos State Government’s youth empowerment program, Project Lagos of Our Dream (Loud).

The LOUD initiative, championed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, aims to equip young people across the state with relevant skills and tools for entrepreneurship and economic independence

At the graduation ceremony held recently, Glen Talloch, through its Nigerian distributor Fidossi Wines & Spirits, donated industrial blenders and presented N50,000 cheques to select outstanding graduates. These efforts underscore the brand’s commitment to social responsibility and community development, a statement said.

“Project LOUD provides specialized training in a wide array of trades and vocational skills, including mixology, tailoring, shoemaking, tie and dye, digital marketing, photography, catering, baking, beauty therapy, wig making, lash extension, and makeup artistry. Last year alone, the initiative empowered over 1,500 youths, with a 2025 target of 3,000 beneficiaries”.

The Governor represented at the ceremony by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, said the initiative aligns with the state’s vision of creating a Lagos where young people are equipped with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in today’s economy.

Speaking about the support efforts for the state youth empowerment program, Fidelis Egbochie, CEO, Fidossi Wines & Spirits, in the statement said, “We are delighted to contribute to the Lagos State Government youth empowerment program. Glen Talloch Scotch whisky is made from the best wheat and blended finely to create an endearing experience during occasions such as parties, dinners, receptions, wedding celebrations and major events. We are reputed for turning every moment into a moment for you.

“We are gladly turning this graduating moment into a memorable one for the graduates of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s skill acquisition and empowerment initiative. We also celebrate the Governor’s impressive accomplishments and economic development. The working tool and fund supports provided for the select graduates are targeted at enabling the young people to have a head start on their entrepreneurship journey. We hope to see them make a worthwhile contribution to the state in future”, he added.

Adekoya Kunle, one of the beneficiaries of the funding, expressed appreciation. He said, “Glen Talloch has made my day. I didn’t expect to receive this support. It comes as a surprise. It is also a motivation to put everything I learned during the classes to good use, and ensure the Governor’s investment and the brand supports are justified.”
