Accion Microfinance Bank is deepening financial inclusion in Kwara State, unveiling a purpose-built hub for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ilorin.
The branch, situated at 124 Abdul-Azeez Attah Road, Surulere, is designed to deliver bespoke credit, savings and digital-banking services that reflect the needs of local traders and entrepreneurs.
While the Ilorin branch marks Accion MfB’s 74th location nationwide, its true distinction lies in a targeted suite of solutions specifically designed for SMEs. From micro-loans calibrated to seasonal trading cycles, to streamlined digital channels that enable real-time transactions, the bank aims to bridge persistent financing gaps that have long constrained the city’s vibrant commercial community.

In the days preceding the launch, Accion MfB’s outreach team undertook a two-day “market storm” across Ilorin’s busiest trading districts—Agaka, Gegele, Ita Amodu, Sabo Line, Ipata, Oja-Oba and Oja Tuntun markets on Day One, followed by Taiwo Road, Unity and Mandate markets on Day Two.
This ground-level engagement not only introduced Accion MfB’s customer-first ethos but also informed the design of loan products, repayment schedules and advisory clinics tailored to traders’ real-world cash flows.
Taiwo Joda, managing director of the bank, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to sustainable growth, emphasising that “our strategy is not simply to add another branch, but to embed financial empowerment within communities.”
He underscored Accion MfB’s focus on “leveraging 19 years of microfinance expertise to deliver personalised banking that unlocks the full potential of Nigeria’s SMEs.”

The new Ilorin centre boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including dedicated SME service desks, digital-onboarding kiosks and financial-literacy workshops. Beyond credit and savings, the branch will host regular clinic days where business owners can access tailored advice on cash-flow management, market expansion and digital-payment integration.
Accion Microfinance Bank’s Ilorin initiative exemplifies its broader mission: to deliver innovative, value-oriented financial solutions that empower individuals and enterprises alike.
As the bank continues to roll out customer-value propositions across its network, Kwara’s residents can look forward to an evolving ecosystem of support designed to foster growth, resilience and long-term prosperity.
