Plateaumed, a Nigerian healthtech company, has rebranded as Plural Health, as it seeks to scale its digital infrastructure across Africa and tap into growing demand for health systems that integrate care, insurance, and payments.

The Lagos-based startup, which has digitized over 1 million patient encounters across more than 60 health facilities since its founding in 2020, said the new name reflects a broader mandate to build an “interconnected healthcare ecosystem” on the continent.

“This rebrand marks a defining chapter in our journey,” Chief Executive Officer Dare Ladejobi said. “We are scaling that impact by building the digital rails that connect clinical management, insurance, payments, and patient engagement, so millions more can access the care they need.”

Plural’s expanded product suite includes NeoEHR, an electronic health records platform; NeoInsure, a digital infrastructure for large-scale insurance schemes; and myNeo, a patient-facing app that provides access to appointments, lab results, prescriptions, and diagnoses in real time.

The tools are built to work across both public and private systems, and integrate payment options including cash, bank transfers, and debit cards.

The rebrand comes amid a push by several African governments to implement universal health coverage and digitize public health financing. In Nigeria, the federal and state governments have introduced social health insurance programs, creating demand for interoperable, tech-enabled systems.

Plural also supported Nigeria’s COVID-19 response by deploying symptom-triage tools via USSD, WhatsApp, and IVR during the pandemic.

With the rebrand, Plural plans to expand its reach across West Africa, targeting government health contracts, private hospital networks, and insurance operators seeking to scale digitally.

“We envision a future where healthcare is smart, integrated, and accessible to everyone,” Ladejobi said. “Plural is our commitment to building that future across Africa.”
