King Sunny Ade, Shuga band to perform at Rotary District event

Renowned musician King Sunny Ade and entertainment act Shuga Band will perform at the Royal Installation of Rotarian (Prince) Henry Olubowale Akinyele as the District Governor of Rotary International District 9111. The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Victoria Garden Event Centre in Alausa, Ikeja.

Rotarian Segun Adebowale, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Team, said the performers were chosen deliberately to entertain the audience. King Sunny Ade and the incoming District Governor both come from royal families in Ondo State, creating a special link. Shuga Band, led by Rotarian Akinloye Tofowomo from Ondo State, will support King Sunny Ade’s performance.

Adebowale stated, “We were very intentional about our choice of the two leading musicians and performers. Our desire is to have the audience lavishly entertained as we install Prince Henry Akinyele as our District Governor for the 2025/2026 Rotary Year.”

The event aims to raise funds for humanitarian causes while offering a memorable experience of entertainment, tradition, and philanthropy for Rotarians and guests.
