President Bola Tinubu says he has no agenda to enthrone a one-party state in Nigeria. He said this in his address to the National Assembly on Thursday to commemorate June 12 Democracy Day.

“For those who ring the alarm that the APC is on the path of a one party state, at no time shall I view the notion of a one-party state as good for Nigeria,” he said.

“I will be the last person to advocate it. In their numbers, they boasted of ruling Nigeria for the next century or more. Where are they now? Even with of that, they could not control my destiny or the destiny of the nation.” He said that the APC must not close its doors to new members.

In obvious jab on the Peoples Democractic Party (PDP), he said he would not help the party to put its party in order nor would he advise them to do so. Tinubu said he is indeed a pleasure to see the party in disarray.

The PDP is battling intractabloe crisis as some of its members are moving in droves to the APC.
