Firm boosts travel tourism with N63m yearly investment

World Mega Travel, Nigeria’s first indigenous international travel lottery agency, is set to invest an additional N63million in funding the travel of 18 Nigerians to South Africa for tourism this year.

This is following an investment of N60.8 million in funding 19 Nigerians to Qatar last year.

Chioma Obinna, chief executive officer, World Mega Travel, explained that the annual travel tourism drive aligns with the company’s vision to democratise access to international travel across the African continent starting from Nigeria.

She added that the company is also funding the international education of two students this year and hopes to open the opportunity to every Nigerian with the dream of traveling abroad.

“There are three categories of people in Nigeria – people who believe that Nigeria is their final destination and who love to spend the rest of their lives in Nigeria, global citizens and those who wants to travel but do not have the means.”

“We are here to prove that travel is not only for the rich by bringing it to every Nigerian who wants to travel through our lottery platform.”

The lottery win covers the cost of visa, transportation, accommodation and feeding throughout the period of the trip with part sponsorship for shopping.

According to Obinna, players of the lottery stand a chance to win cash, household appliances, food stuff, international passports with an international trip being the grand prize.

Speaking on the company’s commitment to continuity, she stated that although the cost of travelling to different continents differ, the company is here to stay.

“The cost differs when we are travelling to a different country. When we are going to the UK, the cost pf travel per person will be N5 million because we’re spending pounds.”

“When we traveled to Doha, the cost was N3.2 million per person. We are committed to this project for the long haul. We are here to stay.” The lottery application has varying price tickets of N1,000 to N5,000 respectively.
