Victor Osimhen has expressed his desire to stay at Galatasaray following the expiry of his loan spell, according to reports from Corriere dello Sport via CalcioMercato.

According to reports from Italy, Osimhen has rejected a significant offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal, signalling his clear intention to continue playing in Turkey.

The Nigerian striker, who spent the 2024/25 season on loan from Napoli, played an important role in helping Galatasaray win a third consecutive Turkish Super Lig title, scoring crucial goals across his 37 appearances.

His impact has made him a fan favourite in Istanbul, with supporters eager to see him return permanently.

Rejects Al-Hilal move, commits to Turkey

Despite receiving a lucrative offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal, Osimhen has reportedly turned it down in favour of staying in Turkey.

“Osimhen wants to stay in Istanbul and has communicated his decision to Galatasaray,” the report claims. “He intends to continue playing for Galatasaray,” CalcioMercato reports.

Negotiations underway between Galatasaray and Napoli

Galatasaray are now working behind the scenes to reach a full agreement with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis. However, the Serie A side remain firm on Osimhen’s €75 million release clause, which applies to non-Italian clubs.

The Turkish champions have reportedly made an initial bid in the region of €60 million and are willing to meet the striker’s salary demands.

The main hurdle remains the transfer fee, but local companies in Turkey are reportedly prepared to step in with sponsorship backing to help fund the deal.

Deal imminent amid strong desire from player and club

Galatasaray are expected to return soon with an improved offer, and with Osimhen’s firm stance on staying in Istanbul, the move now appears to be a matter of when, not if.

Should a deal be struck in the coming days, rival clubs interested in the Nigerian international may need to act swiftly or risk missing out on one of Africa’s top attacking talents.
